like rain when you're finally walking away
nothing she says comes out the way she wants it to, she sounds too critical.
but shes just trying to establish familiarity. & he thinks that they've known eachother forever
he walks by after a mixed signals day & she stands there watching.
they initiate eye contact from the moment he steps outside until he gets in his car. they're used to silence, its comfortable. & this whole time shes waiting for him to smile, because thats just the order of things. but hes not smiling. & these are the times that you realize things have gone too far without getting anywhere.
so now shes thinking if she wasnt so caustic. if she could go five minutes without being sarcastic, would anything change at all? if it would, she thinks, she wouldnt want it. would she? but its his own fault, somehow. she must believe this.
so lets try to buy some more time, bide our time while we wait for nothing. like maybe that extra minute, that last smile before she leaves him will change anything. why are we never satisfied?
iwantedfalliwantedfall. but this, isnt quite it. suck it up. do something. oh but fate, well fate is what you make it. who said that? him, likely. but fate, it happens. its right. but what if she says no? what if she pushes. leading a life full of flowing was working until now. until today. until he looked at her like that. until today, it didnt matter enough. so what happens? what happens is she'll talk about it. & write about it. & think about it. & do nothing.
but why should she, when everything happens the way it should? well maybe she wants more. maybe she wants more than what was given. should she take? should she wait, but how long is too long? already past that now, i'm sure. but with the way things have been going, its hard to be sure of anything.
so she'll wait. she'll waste. but shes probably just too dramatic. & if this were the movie she wants it to be, you'd be seeing a flashback to when he gave a smile & a mock bow saying, "shes too good for everyone."
